Eureka now has over 10 different AirSpeed models on the market. Consumer ratings for the Eureka AirSpeed AS1051A are not bad, but not stellar - owners like that the machine is light, powerful, and maneuverable but some find it a bit loud. The AS1051A is formally known as the AirSpeed ABS (Advanced Bag System) PET AS1051A and it has a few features that make it popular with pet owners. The vacuum includes a pet hair brush, a pet hair tool (PET Power Paw) and a HEPA filter with charcoal to remove allergens and help eliminate odors.

According to the Eureka website there are now 11 different AirSpeed uprights available. The AS1051A is very similar to its brother the AS1050A. The main differences are as follows:

A number of owners report that the AS1051A is easy to assemble while others report struggling with putting the machine together. No tools are required for assembly and parts essentially snap into place.

The AS1051A is a bagged vacuum and is powered by a 12 amp motor. The bags provide a high level of filtration and help reduce allergens. They have a capacity of 3.0 dry quarts. Pals instructor course. The machine is named after the two-tube air system known as “AirSpeed”. Airspeed technology involves utilizing a short but large diameter air pipe (with few bends) between the floor and the dirt canister. The exhaust pipe is also larger to accommodate the increased airflow through the machine. This approach is said to increase vacuum suction and dirt removal. There is also a switch that allows the user to transfer all the airflow from the nozzle to the extension hose for cleaning with tools/attachments.

The Airspeed is designed for both carpet and bare floors and it has a motorized brushbar, however the brushbar on this machine cannot be turned off. Some people like to turn the brushbar off when cleaning bare surfaces. The vacuum accommodates multiple surface cleaning (to some degree) via height adjustment controls on the front of the nozzle. These allow one to switch nozzle height from carpet to bare floors. It should also be highlighted that the front of the nozzle is clear plastic allowing one to easily view the brushbar. This makes it easy to see if there is an obstruction or tangle that needs to be dealt with.

Tools and attachments for the AirSpeed PET include the following:
- Pet power paw tool - for removing pet hair from upholstery or carpet. The tool has plastic teeth, a rubber strip and an air-driven brushbar.
- Crevice tool – for getting into hard to reach areas.
- Pet upholstery brush – can get into tighter areas to remove pet hair (but no brushbar).
- Wand – for extending the vacuum reach. Tools can be attached to the end of the wand or the end of the vacuum hose.

All the tools above store on-board the vacuum. The AS1051A hose is 12 feet in length and coupled with the 30 foot power cord, it gives the vacuum a full 42 feet of cleaning reach. Panasonic lumix dmc zs10 manual.

As the machine was designed with pet owners in mind it includes HEPA filtration with a charcoal insert. HEPA filtration is a high level of filtration that removes very fine particles from the air. More specifically it removes 99.97% of all particles with a diameter of 0.3 microns or more. This includes the likes of dust mite feces, pet dander, ragweed, mold spores and other allergens. HEPA filtration is often popular with people who suffer from asthma or allergies. The HEPA filter in the AirSpeed PET also includes charcoal which acts to eliminate odors. At 18.5 lbs the AirSpeed AS1051A is not lightweight. In our opinion it is perhaps just slightly heavier than average for an upright, although it should be noted that at this time there are no consumer comments indicating that the weight of the machine is a problem.

The AirSpeed AS1051A has thermal overload protection and a thermostat in the machine will shut the motor off if it begins to overheat. If this occurs one should turn off and unplug the vacuum then clear any possible obstruction or blockage (could be an obstructed hose, an overfull bag, clogged filters, etc.) and wait at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes one can turn the vacuum back on.

The cleaning path width on the AS1051A is a respectable 14 inches and the vacuum is UL, CSA and ETL listed. It carries a 3-year warranty.
